Illinois AG Wants Feds on Police

Lisa Madigan, the Attorney General for Illinois, wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Tuesday, seeking a Department of Justice probe into the Chicago Police Department. She is specifically interested in the department's use of force, the adequacy of internal investigations and officer training. "Trust in the Chicago Police Department is broken," Madigan said in a statement. "Chicago cannot move ahead and rebuild trust between the police and the community without an outside, independent investigation."
