Hurricane Relief Mismanaged Under Jeb

A new report from the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general found that Florida improperly administered FEMA hurricane relief funds while Jeb Bush was governor. The Palm Beach County School District “did not fully comply with federal procurement requirements for contract work valued at $7.7 million” and $9.2 million, for Hurricanes Jeanne and Wilma, respectively. “Florida, as the grantee, was responsible for ensuring that the district was aware of and followed all federal requirements.”
