Hurricane Irene Death Toll

Hurricane Irene had claimed the lives of at least 38 people by Monday afternoon. Nate Silver of The New York Times says Irene is the 5th deadliest storm in U.S. since 1980. A woman was found dead in her vehicle in New Jersey. A fire caused by wires knocked down by the storm killed a man in Connecticut. A woman died Saturday after a tree knocked the chimney through the roof of her home, crushing her. At least six people died as a result of the storm in North Carolina. Two 55-year-old males were killed in Florida, including a surfer.
