Hurricane Gonzalo Hits Bermuda

Eighty percent of Bermuda is already without power as Hurricane Gonzalo pounds the British territory with winds of about 115 miles per hour. The eye of the hurricane has since moved north into the Atlantic Ocean, though strong winds and heavy surf have continued, threatening tidal waves. Emergency services are waiting for daybreak to assess the extent of the damage. Tropical Storm Fay damaged property and power lines on the island jut days ago. So far, Gonzalo has killed one person in the Dutch territory of St. Maarten.
