Hugo Chávez: Say No to Implants

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez should be expecting a call from Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi: Chávez has been using the bully pulpit to urge Venezuelan women to resist getting breast implants. Chávez said it was a “monstrous thing” that doctors “convince some women that if they don’t have some big bosoms, they should feel bad.” Venezuela is one of the world’s leading markets for breast augmentation, with 30,000 to 40,000 surgeries per year.
