Holder Denies ‘Fast and Furious’ Cover-Up

Attorney General Eric Holder denied any “cover-up” over “Operation Fast and Furious” during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing. Committee chairman Darrell Issa and his partners have asserted that the Justice Department is hiding information about the gun-smuggling probe, and “had much greater knowledge of, and involvement in, Fast and Furious than it has previously acknowledged.” But Holder told the committee, “There’s no attempt at any kind of cover-up. We’re not going to be hiding behind any kind of privileges or anything.” He added, “I don’t think the American people have lost trust in me … This has become political, I get that.”
