Hillary Server Targeted by Foreign Hacks

    Brian Snyder/Reuters

Hillary Clinton’s private email server was subjected to a number of attempted hacks originating in China, South Korea, and Germany after she left the State Department in early 2013, the AP reported Wednesday. According to a letter from Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, though the cyberattacks appeared to be blocked by a “threat monitoring” product, there was a period of more than three months in 2013 when the server was without that protection. Johnson’s letter to Victor Nappe, CEO of SECNAP, which is the company that provided the threat-monitoring product, requests documents relating to the company’s role in maintaining Clinton’s server. Clinton has not said if any threat protection was in place on her server before SECNAP was hired, including while she was secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.
