Hillary Clinton did not use a State Department-issued BlackBerry device during her tenure, according to spokeswoman Jen Psaki. “Secretary Clinton… was not issued a State Department BlackBerry,” she said Thursday, adding that it was a private sevice. Clinton said she did not use a State Department email account because she could not have both a personal and official State Department email on a single device. Psaki confirmed this was the case, though the policy changed in 2014. Clinton’s BlackBerry, at the very least, would not have been given extensive security measures like those on President Obama’s special BlackBerry, which was built with the help of the National Security Agency. In fact, the NSA wouldn’t even confirm that the phone could send texts or emails.
