Harold Ford Takes Off for Haiti

We take it he’s not staying at the Regency Hotel: In a sign that he’s serious about running for the New York Senate seat, former Tennessee Rep. Harold Ford Jr. accepted an invitation from Al Sharpton to travel to Haiti on Friday. Meanwhile, New York Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand responded to the potential challenge to her seat by Ford on Wednesday, saying that while he “may be right for Tennessee,” he is out of step with voters in New York.
