Gunman Attacks Minnesota City Council

A gunman was killed Monday during an attack on the city council of New Hope, Minnesota. Two police officers were wounded, but are now listed in good condition at a hospital. The attack happened just after the two new officers, Joshua Eernisse and Adam Johnson, were sworn in during a meeting that began at about 7 p.m. Video from inside the chamber captures the confusion, as six or seven gunshots rang out, and council members can be heard swearing and yelling, “Get down! Get down! Everybody get down!” Someone else shouted, “That went right through the door!” and “Somebody got shot!”
