Grizzly Bear Kills Hiker at Yellowstone

A man hiking in Yellowstone National Park was killed by a grizzly bear last week, according to a preliminary finding by the National Parks Service. An exact cause of death has yet to be determined, but investigators say there were defensive wounds on the man’s arms. “Based on partial tracks found at the scene, it appears that an adult female grizzly and at least one cub-of-the-year were present and likely involved in the incident,” the National Parks Service said in a statement. The man, who was found “partially consumed,” had been an experienced hiker who worked for urgent-care clinics in the park.
