Greece Flip Flops on Bailout Deal

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Greece is ready to abandon some of its earlier-stated bailout demands and was re-considering an offer it already rejected. Tsipras indicated he would also call off a referendum, scheduled for Sunday, in a letter to creditors. He only requested that a requirement to raise the retirement age be postponed by a few months, and that they keep a sales-tax discount to Greek islands. Speaking in Berlin on Wednesday, however, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the bailout offer expired Tuesday night.
