The anti-government protesters in Ukraine got competition on Saturday in the form of rallies in support of President Viktor Yanukovich, which brought tens of thousands of pro-government supporters. The support rallies were separated from the anti-government ones by a line of riot police. The pro-Yanukovich rallies come a day after talks between the government and the opposition failed. “We are here to support the president and his order,” said an 18-year-old at the rallies. “Yanukovich is our best prospect at the moment.” Senator John McCain will fly to Ukraine on Sunday to express support for the anti-government protesters.
