Gov. Loses Hair Stylist Over Gay Marriage

Antonio Darden took a stand for his beliefs in a move that might inspire gay hair stylists everywhere. Darden, who is gay and has been with the same partner for 15 years, had cut New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez's--an opponent of gay marriage--hair three times, but that was enough. When her aides called to schedule another appointment, the owner of Antonio's Hair Studio in Santa Fe had to put his foot down. "I think it's just equality, dignity for everyone. I think everybody should be allowed the right to be together," he said. The aides "called the next day, asking if I'd changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no again."
