GOP Senator Re-Endorses Trump

Just three days after declaring that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump should be replaced at the top of the GOP ticket by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Nebraska GOP Sen. Deb Fischer now says she plans to vote for Trump on Election Day. Fischer, like many elected Republicans, sharply criticized Trump after his sexually explicit comments from 2005 leaked Friday, but told Nebraska radio station KLIN that she never technically un-endorsed him. “I felt they were disgusting,” Fischer said of Trump’s remarks in which he bragged about being able to sexually assault women. “I felt they were unacceptable and I never said I was not voting for our Republican ticket.” She went on to say that Trump’s confirmation that he would not actually drop out of the race caused her to no longer ask for him to step aside. Fischer said the decision to back Trump is “not a tough choice.”
