GOP Opposes Alleged Bali Bomber Trial

No surprise here: Republicans are lining up to oppose trying the man accused of masterminding the 2002 nightclub bombing in Bali, which killed 200 people, in Washington, D.C. The ever-hyperbolic Rep. Peter Hoekstra of Michigan said Obama is using criminal trials as a “backdoor means to slip terrorist detainees from Guantanamo Bay into the United States.” The Justice Department, meanwhile, is emphasizing that it has not made up its mind about where to try Riduan Isamuddin, also known as Hambali, who is being held at Gitmo.
