GOP Candidates Take On Rick Perry

The GOP candidates gathered in Tampa on Monday to square off in a debate sponsored by the Tea Party. As the newly crowned frontrunner, Rick Perry was on the defensive, while the Tea Party queen herself, Michele Bachmann, tried to stay alive. Jon Huntsman got in a good jab when he called one of Perry’s comments on immigration “treasonous,” while Ron Paul said his taxes had doubled since Perry became governor of Texas. Perry came under fire for issuing an executive order for young girls to be vaccinated against HPV. "To have innocent little 12-year-old girls to be forced to have government injections through an executive order is just flat-out wrong,” Bachmann said, while Santorum called it “big government run amok.”
