General Motors will be profitable in 2010, the beleaguered automaker's chairman told reporters Wednesday. "My prediction is we will be," Edward E. Whitacre Jr. said when asked about being profitable this year. "Do we have obstacles in the way? Yes. But we have a good management team and a good plan in place." Just last summer, the Detroit stalwart was in taxpayer-funded bankruptcy reorganization. GM has vowed to repay its government loans by the middle of this year.
