Global Plot Suspected in Times Square

As new clues suggest that the failed car bomb in Times Sqaure may be the result of an international plot, an FBI-led terrorism task force has taken over the investigation, the Washington Post reports. Until Monday afternoon, the probe had been led by the New York Police Department. One U.S. official said of the investigation: “Don’t be surprised if you find a foreign nexus… they’re looking at some telltale signs and they’re saying it’s pointing in that direction.” The Post calls the disclosure “tentative” and notes that “several officials said it was premature to rule out any motive, but said the sweeping, multi-state investigation was turning up new clues.” Evidence also suggests that mutiple people may have been involved in plotting the attack.
