Disappointed

Glee's Gay Sex Letdown

How appropriate. Tuesday night’s much-hyped episode of Glee—which promised an envelope-pushing devirginizing for McKinley High School’s favorite gay couple—turned out to be something of a blue ball. Salon’s Matt Zoller Seitz writes that the episode spent far too much time “teasing the audience with false carnal starts,” and filling in the gaps with terrible renditions of West Side Story numbers. By the time the deed was done in the episode’s closing montage, Seitz had all but written the series off: “My internal monologue belts like Rita Moreno: Forget this show and find another.”
