Girl’s Donated Organs Help a Record Eight People

A 13-year-old girl in the U.K. has helped save a record eight different people through organ donation after she died of a brain aneurysm. The parents of Jemima Layzell have said they are “very proud of her legacy.” A donation most often results in about 2.6 transplants. Her mother, Sophy Layzell, said she knew Jemima had wanted to be a donor but that it was still difficult to go through with the decision after her death. She was able to help five children through the donations.
