Newt Gingrich has said he would consider becoming Republican candidate Donald Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, fueling speculation that has been rampant throughout much of the race so far. Saying in an interview with Fox News that he “would certainly talk about it” if offered the chance, Gingrich also coyly noted that Trump has plenty of other options as far as the VP spot is concerned. The former speaker of the House of Representatives suggested Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Ohio Gov. John Kasich as other strong candidates for the position.
