‘Gilligan’s Island,’ ‘Brady Bunch’ Creator Dies

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of one of television’s greats. Sherwood Schwartz, who created Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch, has died at 94. Schwartz worked on a variety of other shows, too, including serving as script supervisor for My Favorite Martian and writing for Bob Hope’s radio show, and he won an Emmy in 1961 for his writing for The Red Skelton Show. But Schwartz is most remembered for the two sitcoms, which remain iconic examples of 1960s and 1970s culture. And he not only created the shows—he also wrote the eminently hummable themes for both.
