G.I. Killed in Iraq Won 11 Bronze Stars

The U.S. soldier killed in Iraq during a hostage-rescue mission has been identified as Army Master Sgt. Joshua L. Wheeler. His death is the first U.S. combat death in Iraq since 2011. Wheeler was part of a Delta Force mission to liberate a ISIS-run prison. Since joining the Army in 1995, Wheeler won 11 Bronze Stars and was deployed 11 times to Iraq and Afghanistan. Wheeler is survived by his wife and four sons.
