Germany Warns of Terror Attacks

Citing “concrete indications of a series of attacks planned for the end of November,” German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said at a press conference that “the security situation in Germany has become more serious.” Maiziere went on to say that there was "reason for concern but no reason for hysteria.” Last month, the U.S. issued a travel alert for Americans in Europe after intelligence officials learned that a group of jihadists in the German city of Hamburg was planning an attack similar to the 2008 Mumbai massacre. Germany’s threat level is now the same as it was during Germany’s 2009 September elections.
