George Hinkenlooper Dies at 47

George Hinkenlooper, the respected director behind such films as Heart of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse and the upcoming movie Casino Jack starring Kevin Spacey, died on Saturday of natural causes. Hinkenlooper, who was 47, was in Colorado preparing to present Casino Jack at the Starz Denver Film Festival. He was also helping his cousin, Denver mayor John Hinkenlooper, with his campaign for Colorado’s governorship. The film is expected to premiere in New York and Los Angeles on December 17. Hinkenlooper leaves behind his wife Suzanne and his son Charles.
