A day after 10 people were killed in fighting at Misrata, pro-Gaddafi forces’ brutal artillery assault on the city continues. Government forces are firing mortars on the city, which is seeing dozens of casualties a day, according to the chief surgeon at its hospital. It’s unclear whether NATO planes—which were apparently not in evidence Wednesday—have been active. In a rare piece of good news for the rebels, they were able to take over a key border crossing on the Tunisian border, after Gaddafi loyalists fled into Tunisia following a fierce firefight. Thousands of people have amassed at the crossing, hoping to flee Libya.
