Gaddafi’s Death: NATO Reportedly to Recommend End of Raids

NATO will recommend the end of the military campaign on Libya following the death of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi, a NATO official told The Guardian on Thursday. The formal decision will reportedly come Friday after a special meeting. NATO began its air raid of Libya in February, and Gaddafi was indicted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague in June. Meanwhile, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said “this end is only the beginning” and added that the U.N. mission is on the ground to assist Libyans.
