Can't say we didn't see this one coming. Florida Democratic House Rep. Richard Steinberg resigned Friday after admitting to sending lewd and creepy messages to U.S. Attorney Marlene Fernandez-Karavetsos. The U.S. Secret Service began an investigation after Fernandez-Karavetsos reported the texts in August, which were finally traced back to Steinberg this week. Using a fake Yahoo account, Steinberg had sent her dozens of inappropriate, anonymous texts, including one that read, "Sexxxy mama?" When he declined to identify himself, Fernandez-Karavetsos texted back, "Leave me alone." Both Steinberg and Fernandez-Karavetsos are married. In a statement echoing Anthony Weiner's resignation, Steinberg said yesterday, "words cannot express how sorry I am to my wife, for the disrespect I have shown her, and my entire family."
