First Full-Face Transplant Performed

Spanish doctors say they’ve carried out the world's first “full-face transplant”—a procedure that gave a man a new nose, skin, jaw, cheekbones, and teeth, among other features. The patient had lost his face from the hairline down in an accident; 30 surgeons worked on his face for 24 hours. "If you look him in the face, you see a normal person, like anyone else we have as a patient in the hospital," the lead surgeon said after the operation.
