Fiji Water Back in Business

Phew, our water supply is safe after all. Fiji, the luxe bottled-water company located on the Pacific archipelago, is re-opening its bottling plant a day after closing it in response to a steep tax increase. The company agreed to the new taxes and announced the reopening of the plant and re-hiring of the 400 workers that had been sent home. "Fiji Water is committed to working with the Fijian government and remains dedicated to helping the country's economy and its people," said John Cochran, the company's president. The government had taken a hard line on the new taxes, with Commodore Bainimarama saying he would welcome a rival taking over Fiji Water’s assets if the company refused to comply with the tax hike.
