Feds Investigating Nevada Crash

Authorities said Saturday evening that they had recovered parts of the plane that nosedived in Reno during an air show. A team from the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the scene of a deadly crash at the Reno Championship Air Races. At least nine people, including the pilot, were killed as thousands of spectators watched in horror. At least 50 were injured, many critically. The pilot has been identified as Jimmy Leeward, a 74-year-old Florida real-estate developer who had been racing planes since the 1970s. Witnesses said part of the plane's tail had broken off, and officials said they recovered the tail as well as other parts of the control system and they would send them to Washington to be examined.
