FBI Investigates Alleged White Supremacists’ Beating of Black DJ in Washington State

The FBI is helping investigate an attack by eight suspected white supremacists on a black DJ in Washington state. Investigators say the group burst into the Rec Room Bar and Grill in Lynnwood over the weekend, attempted to take over the DJ’s equipment, then beat him and stomped him while shouting racial slurs. He was treated at a hospital for a swollen eye and other non-critical injuries. An Asian man who came to the DJ’s defense was also attacked. Seven men and one woman were arrested for investigation of assault, hate crimes, and other allegations, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Court papers identified the suspects as being linked to the Aryan Brotherhood, which had gathered in Washington state to mark the anniversary of the death of white-supremacist leader Robert Jay Mathews. One of those arrested was Travis David Condor, a former soldier from Pittsburgh who reportedly runs the hate-music record label American Defense Records.
