El Chapo’s son may have been one of about six men abducted Monday at a beach resort restaurant, Mexican officials said. Jalisco State Attorney General Eduardo Almaguer said “it is presumed” but still unconfirmed that Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, son of the drug-cartel boss, was among the men taken by gunmen from the Puerto Vallarta site. The gunmen did not take the women in their dining party captive. Authorities say the abduction was likely executed by a “criminal group” but did not name the gang to which they were referring. Evidence from the restaurant, including fingerprints, video surveillance, and vehicle information are all being analyzed to determine the identities of those who were captured. But officials said the “false identities” used by several of the victims was making it harder to investigate. Archivaldo has reportedly assumed control of sections of his father’s business since his January re-capture.
