Egypt Braces for New Violence

Egypt prepared for more violence late Saturday after the death of an unarmed protester earlier in the day and in light of Monday's controversial elections. Egyptian protesters surrounded the Cabinet building on Saturday in an attempt to prevent newly appointed Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri from entering. In a continuation of the clashes that have raged in Cairo for the last several days, security forces and protesters exchanged volleys of tear gas and stones. The appointment of Ganzouri, who served under ousted President Hosni Mubarak, gave new urgency to protests over the military government's refusal to cede power.
