Egypt Arrests 7 for Raising Rainbow Flag at Music Concert

Egyptian police have arrested seven people who allegedly raised a rainbow flag at a music concert in Cairo. According to the Associated Press, authorities accused the group of promoting homosexuality and of being gay. They were each officially charged with “inciting immorality.” The lead singer of the performing band, Mashrou’ Leila, is openly gay. The band has since been banned from performing in Egypt again.
