Ed Miliband Is New Labour Leader

Ed Miliband is the new leader of the Great Britain’s Labour Party, winning by a razor-thin margin of 50.65 percent to his brother David’s 49.35 percent. Miliband replaces acting head Harriet Harman; Gordon Brown’s resignation sparked the vote. Miliband vowed to move the party forward united. David had had strong support among the party’s members of parliament, but Ed’s support with unions and activists propelled him to victory.
