Weren’t we past the mass animal deaths already? Dozens of Canadian geese along Lake Erie are dying of a mysterious ailment, and state wildlife experts are completely baffled. "They will fall out of the sky and have trouble staying upright," said Ohio biologist Dave Sherman. Biologists said the geese have either been found dead or completely dazed and without coordination. Biologists also said they have been getting about a dozen calls a day from concerned residents who report dead geese or dazed ones. The problem was first detected a few weeks ago with mallards, but has since moved on to geese. Some of the injured geese have been recovering at nature centers.
