Dozens Dead in Iraqi Attacks

An estimated 35 were killed in twin bombings in Taji, Iraq, at midday Tuesday, while almost 30 others were wounded. Officials said a car bomb followed by an improvised explosive targeted a municipal building in the town, which is north of Baghdad. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it was said to be similar in style to attacks carried out by Al Qaeda in Iraq, the local franchise of the global terrorism group. Groups like Al Qaeda in Iraq seem to be ramping up efforts to create sectarian strife ahead of planned American withdrawals from the country.
