Domestic-Abusing Silicon Valley CEO Ditched by Investors

Silicon Valley entrepreneur Abhishek Gattani has been ditched by partners in the business he recently co-founded after audio emerged of him beating his wife Neha Rastogi. Gattani pleaded “no contest” earlier this week in Santa Clara court and received a light sentence of less than 30 days in jail, despite his wife’s statement that the secretly recorded audio—which The Daily Beast first reported on Monday—was just one instance in ten years of abusive behavior. According to venture capitalist Anand Rajaraman, whose firm invested in Gattani’s latest startup Cuberon, “We were utterly shocked and saddened by the news. We did not know anything about this and categorically do not support founders with this kind of behavior. The company has separated with Abhishek as of today.”
