$60M High School Stadium Closed

Less than two years after its opening, a $60 million suburban Dallas high-school football stadium is closing due to “extensive cracking.” Some of the cracks in Eagle Stadium’s concrete concourse are up to three-quarters of an inch wide, forcing the 18,000-person facility to keep its doors shut until at least June. “There are concerns surrounding the stadium, but we have been—for a long time—part of the solution,” said a spokesperson for the construction firm that built the stadium. “I’m optimistic that we’re going to have a quick resolve to this that will not affect the football season that’s coming up.”
