COLLECTING COLLECTIONS

$16 Million to Lehman Creditors?

In what could be called a [debt] collector’s collection, Lehman Brothers’ art assets may fetch around $16 million this fall. The auction proceeds will help pay back the bank’s creditors, including Goldman Sachs, UBS, and the New York Giants, but with $830 billion in claims against Lehman, the Hirsts, Gurskys, and Freuds will amount to only a small drop in the collection bucket.
