DOJ: Alabama Police Chief Beat Arrestee

A grand jury in Alabama charged 55-year-old Daniel Winters, the chief of police in Stevenson, Alabama, with two counts of deprivation of civil rights, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Winters allegedly physically assaulted an arrestee and did not stop another individual from using unreasonable force during the arrest. The individual in question suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result.
