Disgraced Chinese Politician Bo Xilai Indicted

A Chinese politician at the center of a massive political scandal, the largest to hit the ruling Communist Party in decades, was indicted late Wednesday on charges of corruption and abuse of power. Bo Xilai, the former party leader and civil servant in the city of Chongqing, allegedly embezzled large sums of public money and used his position to help friends profit. Bo was a rising political star in China, a charismatic figure credited with a massive crackdown on crime in Chongqing, a city of 30 million people. But he made enemies in the Communist Party, and his career began to unravel when his wife was named as an accomplice in the murder of a British businessman.
