Director of ‘Shoah,’ Claude Lanzmann, Dies at Age 92

Claude Lanzmann, the French director and journalist who created the famous 9 1/2-hour documentary Shoah in 1985, has died at the age of 92. His film portrayed the Holocaust through the words of Jewish victims, in addition to Polish bystanders and German executioners. Lanzmann’s family confirmed his death on Thursday morning. The director released his last film, Napalm, in 2017.
