Director of Office of Personnel Management is Latest to Leave Trump Administration
The Trump administration’s director of Office of Personnel Management resigned on Friday, joining a long list of senior-level officials who have moved on. Jeff Pon’s departure was announced by the White House in a Friday afternoon press release and “appeared to have been sudden” since he released a statement about modernizing the federal government workforce one day before, according to Reuters. Pon held senior positions during former President George W. Bush’s administration before taking over as the head of OPM in March. President Trump named Margaret Weichert, a deputy in the office, to serve as acting OPM director.
