Detroit Hitchhiker Gets a Free Car

Detroit native James Robertson, who commuted 21 miles by foot to and from work each day, is finally getting a car of his own. Robertson was forced to walk and navigate a patchy mass-transit system after his car broke down. After Robertson’s story went national this week, a suburban Ford dealership donated a 2015 Taurus to him. The charity doesn’t stop there: Evan Leedy, a Wayne State University student, started a GoFundMe drive for the determined commuter that raised over $300,000 in just four days.
