Deputy Shot 6 Times in Houston Attack

Houston police said a deputy constable was shot six times in the back outside a convenience store early Thursday morning. The deputy was taken to the hospital and was expected to survive, said Pamela Greenwood, a spokeswoman for the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable’s Office. The officer was parked at the convenience store and leaning into his vehicle while talking to a reserve deputy trainee when an unknown suspect shot him in an “unprovoked” attack. Police said they were still searching for the suspect.
