Dems Win Special House Election

Could it be a positive electoral sign for the Democrats? The Party won the first House election of 2010, with its candidate, former Florida state senator, Ted Deutch running away with 62 percent of the vote in the special election to replace Robert Wexler. Of course, the Palm Beach district has always been very blue, but Deutch’s Republican opponent, Ed Lynch, had tried to make the race a referendum on health-care reform—a message that clearly failed to change many minds. Deutch will have to run again in eight months to hang on to Wexler’s seat.
