Democrat Dan McCready to Run Again in Redo of North Carolina Race Tainted by Fraud

Dan McCready, the Democratic candidate for North Carolina’s 9th congressional district, told supporters Friday that he will run again in the district’s newly called election after the original vote was nullified over fraud allegations.

McCready trailed Republican candidate Mark Harris by 905 votes in the initial tally but a new election was called this week by the state’s board of elections. The board held a four-day hearing to investigate allegations of improper collection and completion of absentee ballots by an operative working on behalf of Harris’ campaign. Prior to the board’s unanimous decision, Harris himself announced that he supported a new election.
